Jay Jay Okocha to captain Nigeria in All Sixes tournament in London

Arsene Wenger admits he has no idea when Santi Cazorla will return from injury

first_img1 Arsene Wenger insists Santi Cazorla’s Achilles injury will not ‘harm his future’ – but admits he has ‘given up’ on setting targets on a comeback.The Spaniard has not featured for Arsenal since the 6-0 win over Ludogorets on October 19, when he was replaced after 57 minutes.It has been reported that Cazorla has been forced to seek specialist advice in Spain in a bid to cure the Achilles problem and that he is still some way away from playing again.However, Wenger believes the 31-year-old could be back in action within a month if all goes well.When asked about Cazorla’s injury situation, the Frenchman said: “Look at the moment I have given a little bit up on that.“I don’t know how far he is, Santi, because it looks to me that he is making progress but as long as the player is not in full-time training with the squad it is very difficult to set targets.“It’s not a big injury that will harm his future but it’s an inflammation at the back of his Achilles and it’s very difficult on inflammation to give a set time.“My gut feeling is that it will be short now, two weeks, but after that, when a player comes back to full training, it still takes two weeks to get ready to play again.” Santi Cazorla has missed Arsenal last six games with an Achilles injury last_img read more
