Lee Casciaro: My mate will cover my shift so I can face Celtic

first_imgLincoln Red Imps striker Lee Casciaro will rely on a friend to cover his shift as his side gear up to face Celtic in their Champions League qualifier second leg.The Gibraltan international stunned Celtic on Tuesday night when he wriggled through the defence to score the biggest goal in his club’s history and seal a historic win for the Imps in the process. However, like many of his teammates, Casciaro is only a part-time footballer and earns a living most days as a policeman for the Ministry of Defence. And with the return fixture at Celtic Park scheduled for July 20, the goal hero will have to ask a friend to help him out in his day job. “I’m off until Saturday, but then I work Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.” Casciaro told STV. “But we are leaving on Monday, so one of my mates is coming in to do my shift.“We help each other out. It’s my main job here, working for the Ministry of Defence police for the past 14 years, and so we help each other because its a small community and everybody knows everyone.”last_img read more
