first_imgLOCATION: Central, SC  CLASSIFICATION: Full-time faculty,tenure-track; exempt 12-month contract   REPORTSTO: Chair for the Division of Social Sciences,College of Arts and Sciences   GENERALDESCRIPTIONSouthern Wesleyan University, a university within theWesleyan-Holiness theological tradition, located in the beautifulupstate of South Carolina, invites applications for facultypositions within the nascent but rapidly growing MSc in CounselingPsychology program.We invite interested individuals to apply for the positionof Full-Time Faculty & Graduate InternshipsCoordinator. The university seeks to increase the numberof women and minorities within its faculty. Minorities are stronglyencouraged to apply. The position is intended to begin July,1,2021.The entry level rank of this full-time faculty position will beassistant or associate professor, within the MS CounselingPsychology program, will be determined by terminal degree,qualifications and experience. The selected individual will haveprimary responsibility for coordinating graduateinternships/practica within the MS Counseling Psychology program.  RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Coordinatepractica/internships for the MS Counseling Psychology program. 2.Direct supervision of graduate practicum and internship students.3. Teach classes in the MS Counseling Psychology program(see SWUgraduate faculty carry a 9-hour/semester load: Two 3- credit-hourcourses during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, includingcourse load reductions for internship coordination/clinicalsupervision. 4. Engage in program and curriculum development,student learning outcomes assessment, student recruitment, andadvising in the counseling psychology program. 5. Demonstrateservant-leadership by engaging in service activities within theuniversity and the larger community. 6. Serve on universitycommittees and be actively engaged with the university community.  QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Ph.D. in an appropriatefield (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, CounselorEducation) is preferred. 2. Graduate counseling student supervisionexperience is essential. 3. Experience in or a desire to integrateChristian faith with the teaching and practice of the academicdiscipline is essential. 4. Eligibility for licensure in the stateof South Carolina is preferred. 5. Research experience related tocounseling or experience in the implementation of evidence-basedpractices in counseling is preferred. 6. SWU is committed tomaximizing the use of technology in its daily operations and inachieving its strategic goals.
