Jack White Pens ‘Music Is Sacred’ Poem

first_imgJack White recently started his first hiatus from the road in a very long time. Perhaps he’s bored already, having spent time crafting a lengthy response to TIDAL critics two days ago. Now, he’s released a poem defending the “sanctity of music.”To his defense, it does genuinely seem to be an artistic endeavor, despite the Third Man Records’ site posting a statement clarifying that the poem was not at all related to the TIDAL service. Though we’re sure the value of music is on White’s mind, all things considered.Read the poem below:Music is Sacredthose of you who stand for the sanctity of musicso that its soul can breatheand be heardso that it blooms in graveyardsechoes in hotel hallwaysawakens neighbors in the nightand fills peoples minds with fireshout it out loud with whatever microphone you haveor these stones will shout for you.jump in front of demons, and stand over cowards and those who would intendto rip out your lungs and dampen your desiretell the living and the deadwhat you know in your heart to be trueand what you know your earswill forever hearthat the melody of the human raceis a song that never ends.music is sacred.jack whiteIIIlast_img read more
