Free criminal trial seminar set for Miami April 15, 2010 Regular News F ree criminal trial seminar set for Miami Program is being put on by the Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel A free seminar, “Criminal Court Judicial Forum,” is being sponsored in Miami on April 16 by the Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel for Monroe and Miami-Dade counties.The seminar will be held at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, Courtroom 4-1, 1351 N.W. 12th Street, Miami, beginning at 10 a.m. Speakers include Third District Court of Appeal Judge Vance Salter and 11th Circuit Judges Marisa Tinkler Mendez, John Thornton, Sarah Zabel, and Daryl Trawick. Topics will include State Criminal Court Litigation: Improving the Public Perception of the Judicial System, Ethics In and Out of the Courtroom, Professionalism in the Courtroom, Sexual Predators and Jimmy Ryce Act Trials, and Winning Practices on Appeal and an introduction from Joseph George, the CCCRC for the third region. Registration is the day of the seminar from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
