Charity Ngilu, Picture courtesy.Kenyan voters are making history with the election of first ever female county governors in the latest released provincial results.Joyce Laboso, Anne Waiguru and Charity Ngilu are on the lead in their respective counties, with final results yet to be announced. The three are vying in Bomet (in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya) , Kirinyaga in Central Kenya and Kitui (180 kilometres east of Nairobi) gubernatorial races, are on the verge of becoming first women governors in Kenya.Charity Ngilu and Anne Waiguru are former Cabinet secretaries in the current government; they lost their jobs on charges of corruption.Susan Kihika and Margaret Kamar are female candidates leading in the Nakuru, Uasin Gishu and Isiolo senate race.There were nine female aspirants for the governorship role as against 201 men in the Kenyan elections.
